Church Doesn’t Only Happen on Sundays

Each year, Unitarian Universalists Congregation of Flint (UUCF) friends and members have events that bring us together for fun, fellowship, and to raise financial support for the community, social causes, and UUCF.

Volunteers for these events help set and clean up, recruit story tellers, solicit auction items from members and friends, and then attend of course! These events are open to the community as well.

Tales & Tunes

This event is held in the spring and provides an opportunity to do storytelling, listen to live music, and participate in a silent auction. Auction items are donated by the congregation.

White Elephant Bingo

Held in the fall, White Elephant Bingo is bingo with a twist – there are white elephant prizes.

UUCF Labor Crew

This industrious crew is made up of dedicated UUCF members and friends who, for an hourly fee, will do light housekeeping such as washing windows, yard work including trimming shrubs and spreading mulch, or some home repair like changing a light switch.  Hours are purchased in the spring so watch for an announcement in the E Update newsletter.

CROP Hunger Walk

Members, friends, and family members are invited to walk in this yearly gathering held in the fall to provide life-saving support to families through the donations collected.

Second Sunday Donations

The Second Sunday donation is a special giving opportunity for members and friends. A special collection basket collects financial gifts that are then provided to an area nonprofit highlighted that month. Each year, the congregation votes to select the nonprofits that will be on the Second Sunday list.

Holiday Adopt a Family Project

UUCF, in collaboration with the North End Soup Kitchen based in Flint, provides holiday gifts to families in need. Members and friends are invited to adopt a family, do the shopping, wrap, and bring the gifts to church.
