Ancient people even created the idea that the animals they fed upon, the salmon and bison, gave themselves willingly. Well, maybe not! But our ancestors were showing they knew they had to give to others so there could be security and happiness in the world. It was an agreement; give to others out of gratitude, and in return others will be grateful and also give to create life even more abundant. Join us this week as we explore the real reason humans survived on this planet…generosity! Sign me up Bartholomew!” But now two thousand years have passed, and religions, (all religions) just aren’t selling. The “hook,” that only religion will get you into heaven is now dull and fewer people are biting. About 15,000 Christian churches will close in 2025-2026. But don’t you know; painful endings often disguise new beginnings. This Sunday we Flint UUs will name a new, improved selling point that is even better than life eternal with the same face, body mass index, and mother-in-law.
