Jerry Kerr

About our Ministers, Lynn & Jerry Kerr

Co-minister, Rev. Lynn Kerr is a graduate of the Unitarian Universalist, Starr King School for the Ministry in Berkeley, California. She most recently served as minister to the Maumee Valley Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Bowling Green, Ohio. She has also served as the Minister of Religious Education at the First Unitarian Church of Toledo, OH. Other positions have included Youth and Young Adult Minister at the First UU Church of Concord, MA, Executive Director of the Dana Greeley Foundation for Peace and Justice, and the Director of Donor Relations at the Unitarian Universalist Association.

Our congregation’s co-minister, Jerry Kerr, is a graduate of Duke Divinity School and also attended Starr King School where he met his wife, Lynn, during their first week of orientation in 1994. Jerry recently served as assistant minister with Lynn in Bowling Green, Ohio and also worked in HIV/AIDS prevention for a total of 19 years in Toledo, Oh and Boston, MA. Jerry is the founder of “Northwest Ohio Syringe Services” where injection drug users are treated with respect and compassion.

Jerry and Lynn have one son, Rowan, who attends Sarah Lawrence College in New York.

Cindy graduated from the University of Arts in Philadelphia and has a Masters degree in Museum Education. She has 15 years experience as an educator and is looking forward to serving both the UUCF and the Community UUs in Brighton, Michigan (CUUB). Cindy is passionate about the empowerment of young people and believes that every young person has the inherent right to embrace their individuality and cherish their uniqueness. She is also passionate about assisting in the creation of a more just, equitable and inclusive society. In her free time you can find Cindy spending time with her dogs Charlotte and Georgie, playing in the leaves, hiking, paddle boarding, visiting a museum, or reading a good book.
