This hyperbole from the old (very old!) “Superman” television show is perhaps a little “over the top” in describing a “super” successful all-virtual annual meeting of the General Assembly (GA) of the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) in June of 2020. This first-ever all-virtual GA involved nearly 5,000 attendees, the third-largest in UUA history. Your two Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Flint delegates to the GA, Harold Ford and Charles Thomas, will share with you some beneficial ideas, information and inspiration from their GA participation, Harold as a first-time GA attender and Charles as a multiple-time GA attender. In particular, Harold will concentrate on environmentalism and social justice themes from the powerfully inspiring Ware Lecture by the distinguished author and journalist Naomi Klein; Charles will focus on pervasive racial justice emphases at GA.
