Totem
They created it to draw attention to the destruction of the environment. Their totem pole arrived in Washington DC at the end of July. It’s carvers, members of the Lummi tribe, drove it across the country exhibiting the totem where the sacred earth and waters are threatened. They stopped at Mackinaw City to protest the outdated and unsafe Number 5 pipeline. This service describes one stop on the journey and explores how we can help the first peoples of our land preserve and protecting it for everyone.
Atheist Dogs and the Meaning of Life
Did you know your dog can teach you the secret of life? “What!”…you say: “How could he teach me anything? He doesn’t know sit!” But truthfully, every time your dog doesn’t bite you, he shows you the wonders of planet Earth. Skeptical? Those who come to scoff, will remain to pray…to atheist dogs. Yes, this pet service waxes poetic about canis lupus familiaris…but a side-show of cat-humor will keep everyone happy.Sunday Service of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Flint.
In All They Getting, Get Understanding
Due to technical difficulties with recording our own service, we present this service from the 2016 General Assembly. This service explores a timeless question: What do we expect to “get” from being part of a church. Please note: It is possible that some of you viewed this service in April, so it would be a re-run for you. If not…enjoy.
Reclaiming Our Joy
Come join with Chris Monk to find the Joy that is found in the music provided by Katie Geddis and David Vaughn.
Circle Round
Members and UUCF Delegates to General Assembly, Sandra Murphy and Terri Cross, will share learnings and insights from this virtual experience of the largest gathering of Unitarian Universalists.

“There might be bears!” A Father’s Day rememberance
My dad was not “traditional” in any sense of the word. But the more I hear about other fathers, the more I understand that there probably never was such a thing. Some dads do their best. Some of them hardly try. Some dads aren’t involved at all and sometimes children wish their dads would just disappear. Wherever your dad fits in, we’ll remember every kind of father. Whether our memories be joyful or painful, perhaps we can recognize that all fathers have lessons to teach.
Pride and Prejudice
Those who fight for LGBT rights just want acceptance and the freedom to love who they love. Their hard-won victories earned those freedoms, and also gave everyone a great, and unexpected gift. Our service shows how the successful quest for gay rights brought the whole world to a much-needed reckoning. People and their institutions must now choose between unconditional acceptance, or unreasonable hate. There is no longer a middle ground, on which to hide.Sunday Service of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Flint
